

He was born July 21, 1952 in Washington, DC to the late Eugene Edward and Mary Louise Gardner.
He proudly served as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. He later worked for IBM and the United States Postal Services.
Throughout his entire life, he had an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God will be forever etched in our hearts. He will be remembered as a loving, faithful Christian, husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend to many.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Gardner; 8 children, Shawna Gardner, Dominique Gardner, Jessica Ortega (husband, Ramiro Ortega), Vernon Gardner (wife, Patricia Gardner), Tawnya Paci (husband, Nicholas Paci), Vaughn Gardner, Vincent Gardner, Vegas Gardner (wife, Chelsea Gardner); 3 sisters, Laurel Gardner, Gina Greer, and Sharon Carcia; 21 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jane Gardner Casey.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 31, 2020 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Services, 186 Shelton Shop Road, Stafford, VA 22554.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, at 12 p.m. with Pastor & Evangelist Mark Hanna officiating.
Following the service, The family will have a private interment at Quantico National Cemetery, in Quantico, VA with military honors at 2 p.m.
Reception for family and friends will be held after the private burial at Vernon & Norma’s residence located at 4425 Flint Path Ln Midland VA 22728 promptly at 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Norma Gardner to help with funeral expenses.
