He is survived by his wife, Cornelia-Mirela Catuneanu; two sons, George L Catuneanu Cica and Andrei D. Catuneanu Cica; his mother, Elena Stefanescu; his nephew, Cristi Constantinescu, his cousin, Madalina Stanescu; and his nieces, Miruna Stanescu and Andra Constantinescu.

He was a selfless and immensely loving father, husband and son, a dedicated employee in every workplace that he worked in, ready to help and contribute, an avid reader and a believer in continuous self-improvement. His cooking skills and talent were unsurpassed and all the festive Christmas and Easter dinners that he prepared with so much patience and caring will be always remembered. He loved his country very much, especially the Fagaras Mountains and the Danube Delta.

He will be sorely missed but at the same time he will be fondly remembered and honored, and always loved.
