

She was a Stafford County Native who attended the local public schools. After leaving school she worked as a domestic worker in Springfield, Virginia for over 45 years. She was also a caregiver to many family members and friends.
Vivian accepted Christ at an early age. She joined Shiloh Old Site Baptist Church in Stafford, Virginia. She was active in the church and served on the usher Board for over 25 years.
On June 24, 1960, she married Robert McClenny Chapman and together they raised 11 children. Vivian was a phenomenal woman who leaves a legacy of love for many years to come. She was full of life and always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Our Queen was very family oriented and enjoyed being surrounded by all her relatives which lead her to founding the Jackson Family Reunion. While she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, she had two special hobbies. Her two special hobbies were thrift store shopping and bingo. Her favorite of the two was playing bingo, whenever she had the chance to.
Vivian, a genuine soul known well by all, gained her wings on December 1, 2022, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her children and loved ones. God opened Heavens gates and welcomed her in leaving behind to cherish her precious memory her children: James (Queenie), Floyd (Shelia), Paul, Carol, Corley (Jamie), Lenroy (Angel), Curt (Vanessa), Marie, Brenda, Neal (Kevin), and Melisa; two brothers: Freddie Johnson (Helen) and Edwood Jackson; sister-in law, Alice Jackson; brother-in-law, Morris Pendleton; one adopted sister Melody Harper (Henry); a host of grandchildren, she helped raise Michelle, Gladys, Christopher, Chiquita, and Carl Jr.; great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents (David and Mildred Jackson), husband (Robert Chapman), daughters (Karen Chapman and Doris Pendleton), two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, three sisters, and three brothers.
Vivian’s heart of love and contagious smile will be missed in the community by many. Her spark of conversation and fiery spirit, speaking words of wisdom will be memories for years to come. The lessons that she taught will never be forgotten.
A visitation for Vivian will be held Thursday, December 8, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 186 Shelton Shop Rd, Stafford, Virginia 22554. A celebration of life will occur Friday, December 9, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Montclair Tabernacle Church of God, 16120 Dumfries Rd, Dumfries, VA 22025.
