

He was survived by his wife, Sheryl; son, Walter R and daughter -in-law, Jessica; daughter, Heather and son-in-law, Jeffery; and four grandchildren, Walter Travis, Charles, Mila, and Stephen.
Walter and his wife celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary last fall with both of them still loving each other. He also loved his family and worked very hard taking care of them. His daughter says that she got her work ethics from him. He was an outdoor man, enjoying hunting, fishing, and hiking.
Walter worked as an automobile mechanic at Montgomery Ward in San Antonio, Texas where he met his wife, Sheryl. After they had their son, Walter R., he joined the USAF and worked in Radio Maintenance Electronics for 21 years. Walter was stationed on Guam, Korea, West Texas, Alaska and retired when he was stationed at the Pentagon where he retired from the USAF as a T-SGT. From there, he was fortunate to transition to work for a government contractor where he was able to work on the Pentagon Renovation and other jobs until he retired permanently in 2016.
A visitation for Walter will be held Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at North Stafford Baptist Church, 11 Meadowood Drive, Stafford, VA. A celebration of life will occur Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 12:00pm, 11 Meadowood Drive, Stafford, VA. An interment will occur Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 2:00pm at Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Rd, Triangle, Virginia 22172.
