He defended our country in World War II in the Army. After serving his country he found his passion in Rigging. He spent 60 years pursuing it. He was the owner and operator of Metropolitan Rigging, Area Transfer and National Rigger & Millwrights until his retirement at the age of 86. He enjoyed Westerns, Blue Grass , Country Music, Country Dancing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Elsie J. Heflin. They have 3 children (1deceased), 2 step-children, 10 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his previous wife Isabelle Heflin, in which they had 6 children (2 deceased), 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Quantico National Cemetery on Friday, November 13th at 10am. A celebration of Life will follow at The Encounter Building @ Spotswood Baptist Church, 4105 Lafayette Boulevard, Fredericksburg, VA 22408
