Yvette was my friend in the Marines and taught me so much. She was an amazing Marine, mother, wife, and friend. I will never forget her and the way she touched my and my daughter Faith’s life. Faith and Sam played together when we all lived in Hubert, NC. My deepest condolences and my heart goes out to the Rios and Davis family. May Yvette reset in peace knowing she made an extraordinary difference in the lives she touched.

I am saddened by her sudden passing. One thing I can remember most about my cousin is her perseverance and fearlessness. I am not surprised by the wonderful comments her fellow Marines, friends, and family have shared thus far. I am left shocked and speechless, Yvette was one of the most happy and positive people I have known, I have such fond memories of Sam and Hanna hanging out together, no matter what Yvetts house/home/and family always made you welcome.
Yvette may be gone, but her light will always brightly glow. My thoughts are with all you leave behind.

Very few female Marines impressed me more than Yvette.  I loved her!  A fantastic organizer - so reliable, always volunteering to meet a need. I am stunned and deeply saddened, yearning to help her for once. Though I know she rests today in a better place, we all have an overwhelming heartache for her husband and children.  Steve, I pray God's grace prevails to get you through this and His wisdom helps you raise & advise your children so that their success and happiness supersedes anything imaginable and makes you both proud. Yvette and I met at Strayer and I can still hear her laugh and see her smile. She always had such a positive attitude. I will keep your family in my prayers. I am sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have known Yvette since elementary school and was so saddened to hear of her passing. She was such a sweet, kind, funny person who always had a smile on her face. In elementary school, we were close friends and I have so many fond memories of her. Looking through my photo album, I found several pictures from that time that made me smile. She will always be a part of my heart.

I knew Yvette and her family through the Armstrongs.  She was always so happy and full of enthusiasm for whatever she was doing.   Before she retired she was kind enough to give my family a private tour of the White House. Saying prayers for her beautiful family.

I am not sure what to say when a heart aches like it does right now. The Davis family and ours has lost a huge part of our hearts. Jase and I lost an amazing friend, sister and aunt to my kids. Yvette came into our lives almost 20 years ago. With our families so far away we became a family for each other. Our lives were touched by her in so many ways.
Yvette and Steve have done so much for us and for others. She always thought of other peoples needs before her own. My family and countless others have lived with them in times of moving and times of need. Anytime I needed a friend to cry with or needed advice or a good laugh she was there. I don't know how many times I am going to pick up the phone to text her something only to realize I can't.
To Steve, Samantha, Steven, Ryan and Ethan: I love you all so much it hurts. Yvette loved you guys so much. When she talked about her kids you could feel her pride and joy. She fought as hard as she did because of her love for all of YOU. And Steve no one could have asked for better support from a husband that you gave her these last few long months. She could feel the love from you when she needed it the most. You were the rock she needed to hold it together and fight like she did. My promise to you is to help make sure those kids know how much she loved them and keep her memory alive.

Yvette will always live in our hearts and prayers. We share many special memories and know that the love of friends and family will carry you through your grief. With deepest sympathy.
