Alana Dell began her eternal life on November 18, 2015. Alana was and will forever remain the proud and devoted mother of her two sons, Adam C. Dell of Hallandale Beach, Florida, and Alex C. Dell of Niskayuna, New York. Alana is also the proud and devoted grandmother to her two grandchildren, Ryan and Carly Dell; and the proud and devoted mother-in-law to Tina Dell, the wife of Alex Dell, and the mother of Ryan and Carly. Spending time with Adam and Alex were the very best times for Alana and her family. She provided her sons with the perfect life and was the best mother anyone in this world could ever ask for. Ryan and Carly meant the world to Alana, and she always made time to be with them. Alana especially enjoyed taking walks, shopping and cooking with and for her family. She had the perfect touch and especially knew exactly how to make holiday meals special.
Born in New York on August 26, 1945, to her parents, Jack and Anna Bromberg, Alana had one sister, Florence Bromberg, and spent as much time as possible with her close-knit loving family. On March 18, 1966, Alana married the love of her life, Arthur Dell, a shoe sales executive, who was married to Alana until Arthur’s untimely January 28, 2004, death. During their thirty-seven years of marriage, Alana and Arthur cherished their time with each other and loved to eat, have fun and just spend time together.
Impeccably dressed and forever ready to work and succeed, Alana was an accomplished executive assistant with advertising agencies McCann-Erickson in New York City, and then Carrafiello, Diehl & Associates in Irvington, New York. Given Alana’s passion for antiques, she co-founded Sign of The Times, a leading estate antique sales company. Sign of The Times organized, managed and conducted the sales of the contents of some of the finest estates throughout Fairfield County, Connecticut, and Westchester County, New York. In 2003, Alana became the Member Liaison at Woodway Country Club in Darien, Connecticut. For over twelve years, Alana loved working with the warm, and loving staff and members of the Club, all of whom were the most sympathetic, supportive group of people to Alana.
Alana’s zest for life, and the wonderful family and memories she created will forever remain part of her legacy. Those who were fortunate enough to know Alana and spend time with her were truly blessed.
A Celebration of Alana Dell's life will be held from 1:00 PM-3:00 PM on Saturday, November 21, 2015, at Woodway Country Club, 540 Hoyt Street Darien, Connecticut 06820.
