After graduating from high school, Alex attended trade school and later worked for the Nash Metalware Company in New York City, eventually earning the role of vice president.
He found joy in boating, fishing, and hunting, but what he cherished most was being surrounded by family. Fearless and fun-loving, he especially loved family vacations. Alex loved his family even more than he loved to dance — and that’s saying something. In fact, if there was music playing, you could bet he’d be the first, and the last, on the dance floor.
He will be greatly missed by his children Jeannie, Lorin, Paul, Anthony, Kyle, and Allie; his in-laws Lou, Tom, Elsa, and Nancy; his sixteen grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Alex joins his beloved son John, grandson Joey, brother-in-law Joe, and his parents in the next life.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, November 6th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St, Stamford, CT 06905. A mass will take place on Friday, November 7th at 12:00 noon at St Catherine of Siena Church, 4 Riverside Ave, Riverside, CT 06878.
