Avrom Levy, “Aaron”, longtime resident of both Mount Vernon, NY and Marshfield, MA passed away on December 10, 2022, at the age of 89 after living a beautiful and fulfilled life. Mr. Levy was raised in Milford, MA and kept his New England accent despite living in NY for most of his life.
Mr. Levy proudly attended Brandeis University, Class of ’56 and both The University of New Hampshire and the University of Cincinnati for his graduate studies in Psychology. He was proud to have studied under and been mentored by renowned psychologists Abraham Maslow and Carl Rogers. He was a children’s psychologist for over 50 years having both a private practice and working for the NY City school system. Mr. Levy had an affinity for photography, antique clocks, wine tasting, classical music, and travel.
Mr. Levy is predeceased by his beloved wife of 51 ½ years Harriet “Hindle” (nee Bodenstein) Levy, his parents Dr. Phillip Levy and Stella (nee Phillips) Levy.
He is survived by his sister Marsha Monosson of Chestnut Hill, MA, children; Stella (Isaac) Cohen of Stamford, CT, Elli (Dori) Levy of Norwalk, CT and granddaughters Shira & Jenna Cohen and Harlow Levy.
Funeral Services will be held, December 14, 2022, at 10 AM at Chabad of Stamford 770 High Ridge Rd, Stamford, CT 06905. Burial will follow at New Montefiore Cemetery 1180 Wellwood Ave, West Babylon, NY 11704.
