
Barbara graduated from Stamford High School in 1952. She attended Wheaton College in the 1950’s and later returned to the University of Connecticut, where she earned a BFA in 1984, an achievement reflecting a steady devotion to learning and to the work that meant so much to her.
On June 19, 1955, Barbara married Walter Hotz. Throughout her life, she carried herself with a quiet constancy, giving her time and care to the people and places she loved. She cherished her home, and she especially loved her artwork and her little dogs while her husband, Walter, could walk them. Her devotion was also evident in the many showings of her art work over the decades, a body of work sustained by commitment and enduring purpose. In addition to her fulfillment in art, Barbara found enjoyment and companionship in tennis, golf and bridge
Barbara is survived by her children, Michael Hotz of Pine Beach, NJ, and Susan Hotz and her husband Jeff Corliss of Westport, CT; and by her grandchildren, Emily, Rebecca, and Mel Hotz. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Oliver Roddy, Madelyn Roddy, and Isabella Greenstein. Barbara is survived by her brother, George Sarner.
