
Belle G. Miller, 95, of Stamford passed away peacefully in her sleep early Sunday morning at home. She was surrounded by her three daughters, Lisa Miller (Joseph Weissman), Abbey Miller Kreinik (Stephen), and Neile Miller Lutze (Werner). She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Barrie Kreinik, Max Lutze and Daniel Lutze. Belle was born in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of Max and Betty Geller. She graduated in 3 and a half years from James Madison High School and attended Brooklyn College. On January 1, 1942, she married the love of her life, Arthur A. Miller, who pre-deceased her. Belle and Arthur had an enduring love affair from their first meeting at a Sweet Sixteen party in 1936 until his passing in 2004.
In addition to raising their three girls, Belle was a highly regarded bookkeeper, whose expertise continued to be sought by businesses until now. She was also a volunteer extraordinaire throughout her life, serving 10 years with Reading Partners, 15 years in the Endoscopy Unit at the Tully Health Center, and for 15 years, as the president of the board of Regency Towers, which she had called home since 1989. She was a long-standing member of Congregation Agudath Sholom, a life member of Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, and a past president of the Stamford Chai group of Hadassah.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Monday, August 10, at Congregation Agudath Sholom. Shiva will be observed in her home from 7-9pm, minyan at 8pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of one’s choice.
