Bruce was born on February 23, 1956 in Staten Island, New York to Redmond and Elizabeth Gilpatrick. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Bernard M. Baruch College C.U.N.Y. in 1977 with a degree in political science and Fordham Law School in 1980 with a degree in law. Bruce married his beloved wife, Marian, on August 23, 1991. Marian and Bruce moved to Stamford, Connecticut in 1992 and welcomed their two children thereafter. It was immediately evident to everyone who met Bruce that he adored his wife and children, who will remember him as a kind, patient, and protective father and husband. Bruce was also a dedicated brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. He was witty, well-read, and had a wry sense of humor, bringing spirit to family gatherings.
As a lawyer, Bruce was professional, steady, and meticulous. He spent his entire 38-year legal career with H.P.M.& B., serving in the New York, Stamford and White Plains offices. He will be remembered by his colleagues as a true team player, who was always supportive of young lawyers. He even acted as resident Santa Claus for the firm each year, the perfect role to represent his good humor and gentle nature.
