Born in NYC, NY, she was the daughter of Sarah and Joseph Picataggio. Catherine graduated from Stamford High School in 1950 and was employed for many years at Teleregister/Bunker Ramo as a Secretary and Documentarian.
Catherine belonged to St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Stamford and St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Norwalk. She loved the theater and frequently went into New York to window shop, visit museums, and take in a play. She met her husband Harry Silvern while serving as an usher at the Palace Theater in Stamford.
Catherine is survived by her husband, Harry Silvern, her daughter Donna Weidner (Gary), her son Craig Bogardus, two grandchildren Richard Bogardus (Cathy) and Thadeus Bogardus (Lauren), and two great-grandchildren, her brother Joseph Picataggio (Diane), her brother-in-law Joseph Denicola and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Sarah and Joseph Picataggio and her sister Marguerite Denicola.
A visitation will be held at Leo P. Gallagher & Son at 2900 Summer St. on Tuesday, September 26 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will immediately follow at Fairfield Memorial Park at 230 Oaklawn Ave.
