OBITUARY

Deirdre McParland

April 26, 1966October 2, 2020

Deirdre Ann McParland, “DD,” entered eternal peace on October 2nd, 2020 at the age of 54.

Deirdre was born in Camlough, a small village in County Armagh, Northern Ireland on April 26, 1966. All who knew DD knew how special she was and that she will be deeply missed by all.

Besides her mother, Rosemarie McParland of Camlough, Ireland, Deirdre is survived by her beloved twin sister, Fiona Roisin Connolly of Stamford, CT; her two nieces who she treated as her own daughters, Emma Rose and Jessica Mary; Deirdre’s six other siblings: Micael McParland, Oonagh Purdy, Marguerite Morley, Desmond McParland, Shauna Clements, and Patrick McParland; her 19 nieces and nephews; two grand-nieces; one grand-nephew, and several aunts and uncles.

She was pre-deceased by her father, Desmond McParland.

DD was a shining light who emanated positivity and happiness. She had a huge giving heart and was the best daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and colleague that one could ask for. Her beautiful smile lit up a room; she was the kindest soul who made everyone want to be around her.

A visitation will be held Monday, October 5, 2020, from 5:00-8:00PM at Gallagher & Son Funeral Home in Stamford, CT. Her funeral will take place in Ireland, surrounded by her family.

Sincere condolences to Rose, and thank you for the beautiful gift of DD to all of us. She was a shining star that brightened our lives and we had so much fun and laughter together over the years in Stamford.

To Fiona, Noel, Emma and Jessica and McParland family, may you find some comfort in the following words
"Those we love don't go away; They walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard but always near. Sill loved, still missed, and very dear.."
She will always be in our hearts. ❤
