

Dennis Ray Manskar, 67, passed away on April 18. He was born in Burbank, California on April 21, 1943. After growing up in Southern California, he attended the U.S. Naval Academy, graduating in 1966 with a commission as an Ensign, and starting a lifetime doing what he loved: flying. During his Naval career he was a P-3 Orion pilot, serving in Vietnam and at the Pentagon during the first Gulf War. Dennis retired from the Navy with the rank of Commander after 28 years of active and reserve service. As a civilian, Dennis was a commercial airline pilot and instructor with Eastern Airlines and North American Airlines. Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Sharon, his daughter Kristen, and son Matthew. He always put his family and friend’s needs above his own, and his selfless way of life will be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Dennis' honor to either the National Parkinson’s Foundation or the Wounded Warrior Foundation. Visitation will be held on April 25 from 4 – 8 PM at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St, Stamford, Connecticut 06902. A funeral will be held on April 26 at 10:30 a.m. at the same location. Burial services will take place later this summer at Arlington National Cemetery.
