Dear Richard, Gail, and Christine,
I went to Rippowam Cluster Program with Dianne as we were both in the Arts/Communication certificate program. As a teenager, she was confident and brash with a vivid imagination, and I took the time to get to know her when she starred in the musical Little Mary Sunshine. I was recently watching the movie Hitch where I saw her clear as day in the office scene and became quite sad when I looked her up and saw that she had passed. I hope time offers some healing and a focus on good memories. She was nice to me, and that's the stuff that counts.

Dianne I am still thinking of you and I hope that you can forgive me for not being at your goodbye service. I would have been there in a second if I had only been told. I don’t know why your friend that was with you at the end did not get in touch with me because she knew that I would like to be informed that you had passed.  I am hoping that you can hear me when I talk to you and I will always miss you.  Your laugh is still in my mind and that is a small comfort.   Missing you forever,

Dear Dianne,

One year has passed since you left us. It doesn't get easier, we just try to get through each day. It's like having a very bad dream but when you wake up nothing has changed. The sad truth remains---you are gone.

You left a generous donation to your favorite PBS station so the Britcoms you loved will be enjoyed for a long time.
 
We are trying to talk about the funny and happy memories, but it is hard. We don't want to remember how you died, but celebrate the fact that you lived.

 Maybe someday it will be easier to look at your baby pictures, the baby spoon engraved with your name, your baby blanket and the lock of hair I saved. But now they make me cry. 

I can still remember the day you were born.  You called the car radio the "happy" because you loved music. You had a lovely singing voice, a good sense of humor and you were a good cook.

You were our firstborn, our little girl, our dear daughter.

 I searched on the internet just today to find out what new film Dianne may be in only to discover that she had passed away. It felt like the wind was taken out of my sails when I read of what happened. Just know that she touched many lives and benefited them all. Through it all I can say EVERYONE has a memory of being around Dianne that brings a smile to their face. She truly was an angel of music. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Mere words cannot express my sympathy for your loss.  I can't imagine losing a sister or daughter.  I think I would have enjoyed getting to know her.  Fortunately she will live on through your memories, and of course the hilarious stories of your family's trips and pranks.

l became friends with Diane at work.. She always talked about how much she enjoyed traveling. She also loved to go out and have a nice. dinner. I am proud I was her friend. I just heard of this today and  wanted to send my prayers and sorrow to her family. Sorry I didn't get to say good bye. Remembering the fun we had together.

Ed and I are just shocked at the loss of our niece Dianne. We're at a complete loss for the right words - perhaps there are none.

A fond memory (that Ed forgot to mention) was your 25th wedding anniversary in Stamford. Dianne & Christine hosted a surprise party. Buszia, Dziadzia, Ed, Sarah and I snuck into town, and Dianne picked us up at the airport. We'll never forget the wild & crazy white knuckles ride to the hotel - the 5 of us (plus Dianne) packed like sardines in her subcompact Nissan!

After dinner, more fun was to be had when most of us went into the back room and did a spoof "ritual" that we'll never forget! Sarah still has the picture in her bedroom at home to prove it!

Dear Gail, Rich, and Chrissie,

I have to confess that I kept putting off signing this book, because I didn't want this to be real!!!  Dianne and all of you have been such an important part of our lives for so many years.  I can still see her and Chrissy jumping with joy running around the big old brown house in Rockville Centre in their St. Agnes uniforms.  They always had some crazy new obsession and they could always make me laugh.  I loved teaching piano to Dianne even though it took her years to see the point of things like "fingering."  I loved it because she was totally engaged and loved music and the arts.  I keep thinking of that silly ringtone, "we're the Zarembas and we play on the marimbas!"  Dianne and Chrissy always had so much fun with things like that!
    We had so many wonderful "leaf Peeps" exploring New England and spending time with the fantastic, warm, funny Zaremba family!!!  Dianne and Chrissy were always at the forefront of our explorations until we added Julie much later.  
     Then when Dianne grew up, she was no longer my student, or one of my favorite kids, she became my friend.  We had lots in common ... music and the arts.  She made one of my fondest dreams come true by taking me her to several political conferences that culminated in dinner at the White House, and another year, a cocktail part at the Vice President's mansion.  We even had a chance to speak to Nelson Mandela at our hotel.  
     We've treasured the visits that the Zarembas (including Dianne) have made to Charleston since we moved to South Carolina.  The hardest thing about about being here has been not seeing the Zarembas all the time.
     We are saddened beyond measure to lose Dianne, but in our memories she'll always be vibrant and full of life!  Our hope is that now that you'll be in South Carolina, we'll be able to see the rest of the Zarembas much more often and do whatever we can to be a comfort to you.

Dear Gail, Rich and Chrissy,

Since hearing of Dianne's passing, you've been in our thoughts and prayers as well as in our hearts.  Please know that we will continue to hold you there as you mourn and remember her in your own time.  

We remember Dianne as an intelligent, interesting and entertaining young woman who had such a joie de vivre!  This was reflected in many of the entries in the guest book.  Clearly, she left her handprints on many hearts as she lived life to the fullest.

It's been said that memories are time that we borrow to help us get to "tomorrow"...  May your memories of Dianne - the ones you truly cherish - help you get through to your tomorrow.  May you someday have inner peace - the peace that we believe she is at - in God's care.

I just don't have the words to express how much you will be missed. For better or worse your influence on my life was profound. You were truly one of a kind, and never missed an opportunity. I remember writing songs about Tom Kelly with you in the style of Weird Al, pestering Grandma and Grandpa to take us to see Amadeus yet one more time, sitting in the back of the station wagon for hours while mom bought ceramics and complaining about the "ceramic dust music", our obsession with The Tomorrow People, attending the Mozart Festival, performing in Troupers Light Opera, all the Britcoms you introduced me to, your one-woman Star Wars rendition on the drive back from South Carolina and our encounter in that crazy bathroom in the Mumbai airport. We also loved to go to work with Dad on weekends and had a grand old time running amok in his office. You made a a mean shepherd's pie and taught me the low-carb version.

One special memory I have is the time I started crying in the RVC Lanes over not getting pretzel nuggets and Mom and Dad asking you to walk me home. You told me to check my pocket, and sure enough you snuck a pretzel nugget in there. I stopped sniffling and looked up to see you smiling.

Dear Uncle Rich, Aunt Gail, and Chrissy,

Dianne keeps floating across my mind. I even tried finding "Hitch" on Netflix, to see her deliver the greatest line ever not spoken (out loud) :) As I said last week, she had the star quality from an early age. My first memory of her is when her and her Diva Dress showed up at Easter. This was soon followed by the greatest glamor shots I've ever seen. It came as no surprise, then, that she become an actual starlet. I get easily starstruck, so I was beyond proud to have an actual STAR in the family, one who even shared an elevator and a conversation with my first celebrity crush, Tom Cruise.

And that star-like quality carried beyond the silver screen. She also helped out her poor-college age cousin by giving her a bag of Euros (and mountains of advice) for her first trip to Europe. I wish we could have explored more of the world together.

I wish I had words to ease the pain. All my love.

Dear Gail, Rich and Chrissy,

It is so very difficult to find the right words to express my shock upon hearing of Dianne's untimely passing.  Much, Much too young, but oh, did she accomplish so much in her short life.  The funeral service was very moving, and all the tributes from your family, Dianne's best friend, and her New York fellow actors painted a side of Dianne I did not know.  My first memory of Dianne was a little wide-eyed beautiful girl, coming to Stamford from Long Island (Garden City if I remember correctly), with her parents and sister having a "blast" looking at new houses.  Dianne was always interested in real estate, and I think she would have been an amazing young realtor, but the acting bug was long lasting, as were her friendships.  She will be missed by all of those who knew her, and loved her.  I last saw her a few months ago, walking with such beautiful posture, and self assurance...and a smile on her face.  May her memory bring smiles to your faces too.

I can't tell you how sorry I am to hear of my niece Dianne's passing.  I was fortunate enough to see the first few years of her life when she was born here in Cleveland. One of my earliest (& fondest) memories is how she loved music - one of her favorite songs was "Rock Me Amadeus" (Falco). And back in the "old days" (when records were on vinyl), how she could identify the "A" (hit) side of a 45 RPM record before she could even read! How did she do that?? And she called the spindle that held the stacked records "catch-a-hole"! The latest memory would be when she & Christine came to visit Juanita, Sarah & I on Christmas five years ago - a fun time for all of us.  And at the funeral service, the tributes & accolades from her friends & her fellow TV/film actors put a new spin on her that I never saw. She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed.

i will always remember how diane made me laugh til i wet my pants  on my yacht at an  easter sunday  barbeque. mark hamlet gave the sermon, i cooked the food,joleen, micheal & diane poured ...we all had too much to drink more,  so i made her and joleen spend the night. In the middle of the night ,we were woken by a scream from diane.  we thought we had been invaded by pirates, but instead there was diane all tangeled up in the forward berth unable to move trying to  get out to "go"...her  head down by her legs and arms all smashed under the forward beam... you cant get out like that!!!  we all laughed and laughed til our stomachs pained and tears fell from our eyes.  "what are you doing?" i asked 
 "i have to go to the bathroom" she said all tangeled up in an impossible here-to fore unseen  yoga like knot...  we untangled her well enough to extract her,  but our laughter never ceased..ever..she was so dignified , laughing and tangled

One week ago our lives were shattered. Our only comfort is remembering the good times we shared and that you managed to accomplish all of your life goals by age 40. You were proud of that, and so are we. May the wings of angels escort you into Heaven.

I first met Dianne on the set of the Producers. She was witty, talented and kind. We worked together on a number of film and tv projects over the years. Whether we were talking about theatre, politics, or enjoying the treats at the craft service table, Dianne was a sweetheart. I wish we spent more time together. You were a good friend. I hope now you are at peace.

Dianne was a sweet soul.  I worked with her on many film and tv projects.  I was always happy to see her when we got to work together.  So sorry for your loss.

Rich, Gail, and Chrissy, Dianne is my dear Goddaughter who I will miss very much. She will always be with me and in my prayers. The path of life symbolizes our life with its troubles and sacrifices, but also amazes you with its joy. For me, Dianne was that joy.

I will miss the times we had deep conversations on the phone and all the advice you shared so freely with me. Dianne you were a very generous person.
