Dumitru Mihailescu

Dumitru Mihailescu (Pompi) of Stamford ,CT, beloved husband, father and great friend passed away peacefuly, May 18th, 2012, at Stamford Hospital after a courageous battle against cancer.

Dumitru was born Dec 11,1950, in Romania, and was a resident of Stamford, CT since 1982 .

He was married to Margareta Mihailescu since August 1980.

Dumitru Mihailescu was the founder and owner of DM Painting Company since 1982.

He was immensley beloved by his family and friends for his generous, welcoming nature.

He was the perpetual socialite, always vivacious and humorous.

Dumitru is survived by his wife, Margareta, who’s a RN at Stamford Surgical Center, daughter Dominique, sisters Elizabeta and Florina, niece Madalina and nephew Ciprian.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of Stamford Hospital for their compassionate care.

The Wake services will be held at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Homes, 2900 Summer St. in Stamford, CT with Father Cornel Todesa of St. Dimitrie Orthodox Church officiating.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 22nd between 6pm and 8pm at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Homes, 2900 Summer St. in Stamford, CT.

Funeral services will be held on May 23rd, at 11am followed by the burial at Woodland cemetary, in Stamford, CT.
