Egilio (Jerry) Giordano 98, a lifelong resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 6, 2018. Jerry was born on March 26, 1920 in Stamford, CT to Michael and Domenica Giordano.
Jerry was a Stamford High School Graduate. After graduation Jerry went on to work at USPS, for his entire career until retiring as the Purchasing Department Supervisor at the Stamford Post Office. After retiring, Jerry worked as a bookkeeper at the E Gaynor Brennan Golf Course in Stamford.
He loved to go to dinner dances on Saturday nights at either the South Norwalk Boat Club or the Knights of Columbus. Jerry was an avid golfer until his early ninety’s. He enjoyed spending the winters in Florida golfing and out of the cold weather and loved to watch golf tournaments and Yankees baseball on TV.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Antoinette (Nettie) Giordano, son Joseph Giordano, daughter in law Jean Giordano, his granddaughters Jeannie Jakuith, Michelle Carra, 6 great grandchildren, stepson John DiStefano, stepdaughter Darcy DiStefano, nieces Geraldine Agneto, Jean Rinaldi, Domenica Sarica, and Anna Ferraro.
He is predeceased by, his first wife Stella Giordano, parents Michael Giordano and Domenica Giordano, sisters Mary Memoli, Angelina Sacco, brothers Joseph Giordano, Angelo Giordano.
Family will receive relatives and friends at Bouton & Reynolds Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street, Stamford on Sunday, March 11 from 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. There will be a mass on Monday, March 12, at Holy Spirit Church, 403 Scofieldtown Rd, in Stamford at 10:00 a.m. His interment will be private.
