Eleanor Jean Kohn (Grant), 71, a lifelong Stamford, Connecticut resident, died in her home on April 4, 2015 from pulmonary fibrosis. She was born in Stamford on August 17, 1943. She graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1966 with a bachelors degree in English. She worked as a programmer/analyst for many years employed by Olin Corporation, Clairol, Xerox, and Pitney-Bowes. After retiring she worked as church secretary for St Maurice Church in Stamford. Eleanor is survived by her devoted husband of 30 years, George and her sister Deborah Short and many beloved nieces, nephews and their children. She was predeceased by her parents Marguerite and Edward Grant, and her sisters Karen Mehrtens and Mary McClure. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday April 8 at 11:00 AM at St Maurice Church 358 Glenbrook Road in Stamford. Friends and relatives may call at the Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home at 2900 Summer Street on Tuesday April 7 between the hours of 4 and 7.
