Emmanuel Alphonse, of Stamford, CT passed away in Haiti on January 4, 2011.On November 12, 1929, he was born to the late Norvilus Alphonse and his wife Egyptia Lafortune in Cayes Jacmel, Haiti. Mr. Alphonse completed his primary and secondary schooling in Cayes Jacmel, Haiti. He completed his professional degree in 1950, majoring in Shoe Design. Mr. Alphonse served as mayor in Cayes Jacmel and was a member of the “Mission Communal”. He was a devout Christian and a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church of Cayes Jacmel. Mr. Alphonse relocated to Connecticut where he lived for over 20 years. While in Connecticut, he was a member of the French Speaking Baptist Church of Connecticut.
Emmanuel Alphonse leaves to cherish his memories: his wife Thergelie Janvier, his children Roussel Alphonse, Late Robert Alphonse, Soeurette Piquant, Dieudonne Marcellus, Emmanuela Philemon, Caulette Alphonse, Marie Nesmy Alphonse, Rose Farah Erica Saladin, Sonny Gay, seven grandchildren, six great- grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws and other relatives and friends. A Funeral service will be held 9AM on Saturday January 15, 2011, at the French Speaking Baptist Church, 28 Adams Avenue, Stamford, CT. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park Cemetery.
