Estelle P Beland

ESTELLE P. BELAND, age 86 and a long time resident of Stamford passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 15, 2012. Born on September 21, 1925 in Northbridge, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Alderic and Ernestine Sauve. She worked for many years as a telephone operator, then later in life worked as a saleswoman for Bloomingdales. In her earlier years she volunteered as a troop leader for the Girl Scouts organization and was active in parish activities at St. Mary’s Church. She was an accomplished seamstress and loved all kinds of music. She is survived by her husband, Emilien Beland of 64 years; her 5 children, Adele Snowman and her husband Russell Null of MD, Michele Speer of Norwalk, CT, Mark Beland and his wife, Tina of AZ, Donna Beland of NJ, and Joan Stroh and her husband Bill of CT; her 3 grandsons Scott Snowman, Stephen Snowman, and Zachary Speer. Friends may call at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street, Stamford, CT, 06905 on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 from 4PM to 8PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 A.M. on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at St. John’s Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien, CT, 06820. Internment will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery, 41 Hecker Avenue, Darien, CT 06820.
