Fran was born in Forfar, Scotland, immigrating to Paterson, NJ as a child. She graduated from Eastside High School in 1939 and soon after met the love of her life, Theodore “Ted” Morro, at the Anchor Club – a social club for students and alumni of Eastside High School. They married in 1945, ultimately settling in Wayne in 1956, where they raised their family and were active members of the community. Together, Fran and Ted owned Matas, Finaly, & Morro in Paterson, an office supply store which remained in business for 42 years until they retired in 1992.
Frances was engaged with many organizations in town, including as a founding parishioner of Our Lady of the Valley RC Church. Fran was a member of the Elks Lodge 2181 Auxiliary Club and was very involved with the Leisure Timers. At the Wayne Adult Community Center, Fran especially enjoyed her Bridge games and other social events. Fran was also a competitive bowler – and was an avid golfer on local courses with Ted and her many friends.
Fran was the devoted wife of Ted for 66 years (his passing, 2011). She is survived by her loving children, Dianne Redner and her husband, William; Janice Erwin; and Robert Morro and his wife, Odalisa; as well as her numerous cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
All services for Fran will be held privately.
