Rick was born in New Orleans, LA, and grew up in West Virginia. Rick graduated from George Washington High School in Charleston, WV, and spent time in Australia with Rotary International. He attended Yale University (BA 1982) where he pursued American Studies and Photography.
Rick was a cherished and involved community member, talented photographer, and a mostly lucky angler. He was an active member of the Angler’s Club of New York and the Stamford Yacht Club. He loved photographing sailing regattas across Long Island Sound on his beloved boat, On the Fly, and skillfully captured the beauty and colors of Cuba, India, South Florida, and The Bahamas.
Rick’s love of sports and travel was woven into his career across the luxury and sports marketing world at Rolex, the World Gold Council, and Rio Tinto. He always welcomed spirited debate over a bourbon, shared a wry wit, and loved to tell stories from behind his Nikon lens, one of his happiest places.
He was a proud and loving father, uncle, and grandfather. He is survived by his two children and their families, Courtney Ricciuti (Michael), Frederick (Eric) G. Bannerot V (Hannah), his former spouse, Lisa Farlie Bannerot, and his sister, Karin Bannerot. He was also the proud “pop-pop” to Courtney & Michael’s sons, Evan and Maxwell.
He also leaves behind extended Bannerot and Farlie family members as well as friends in the sailing, photography, and fishing communities who deeply miss him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Dr. Frederick (Fred) G. Bannerot III and Jutta Bannerot.
