On this. day August 16, 2021 I was watching youtube video for the first time listening to Dr George to later find out today would be his birthday celebration. My birthday is on August 17 during this time every year I take time with God. It was during this time i came arcoss Dr George shining light on Bible as well Blacks History's. I found things he was saying to be insightful. I found that a relationship with God not religion gives man Peace. Thank you Dr for sharing your lifes work, can wait to discover more of your writing and teachng to share with others to open minds and hearts. To family much love


The Empty Bench

We miss you George Simmons, you r warm and friendly spirit will be missed  by all who had the pleasure of knowing you.
Family and friends have become accustomed of greeting you at the park bench but for me it was the morning phone call just to hear you call me girl I knew you would call soon.
I admit I've had some sleepless nights created by your absence but I pray that everyone fills that void with the presence of our Heavenly Father for he will not forsake you

Please accept my deepest condolences of the passing of Mr. Simmons.  I remember him as a quiet, soft spoken man.  My father, Charlie Smith, also lived at 26 Main Street, and Mr. Simmons would just laugh and shake his head at some of the silly things my dad would say.
