

George David Zurman, Jr., recently from Newtown and formerly from Cheshire entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 15. He was born in Stamford on July 9, 1946, the son of George D. Zurman, Sr. and Veronica Thomas Zurman. George was an outstanding leader and athlete when he graduated from Rippowam High School in 1964. He graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1969 with a degree in Business Administration.
After working with GE for three years, he joined the Hubbell Corporation where he worked as a Corporate Officer and VP of Human Resources until his retirement at the end of 2004.
George had a passionate interest in American history and was a collector of antique furniture and toys. He loved cars - MGs were his favorite. George was known and loved for his positive attitude, optimistic outlook, sense of humor, and quick wit.
Recently married, he is survived and greatly missed by his wife, Carol DeAngelis Bussey; his mother, Veronica; his son, Todd Zurman; his sister, Beverly Nash and her children; as well as numerous cousins, and his “grandfriends” - Carol’s seven grandchildren.
Calling hours will be at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street, Stamford from 4-8 P.M. on Sunday, September 19. A celebration of resurrection will be held at the Evangelical Community Church, 1155 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, at 11:00 A.M. on Monday September 20. Interment following at St. John’s Cemetery in Darien.
