Germaine Desir

Germaine Désir a longtime resident of Connecticut, entered in eternal rest on Friday, November 25, 2011 at the age of 89. She was predeceased by a daughter, Carole Damis. Germaine is survived by 11 children: Carlo Desir, Jean-Claude Damis, Marlene Damis Desmolieres, Kelly, Laurette, and Marie-Lourdes Damis, Mirlande Jeanty, Jean, Eddy, and Jean Walker Thomas and Carole Richard. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren: Nathalie and Emmanuel Desmolieres, Colette Lesperance, Gregory & Valery Rene, Nharyman Azima, Ludovic Damis, Carine, Myranda, Carl Anthony and Johny Desir, Murat, Claudine, Fabiola, Ritchy and Ronald Damis. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren: Shakir Damis, Falesha Poor, Fredrick Damis,Kayla Damis, Isabelle and Anthony Lespérance and Ziare Rene. Germaine was devoted to her family, and found her greatest joy with them. She was a loving mother and a beloved grandmother. She loved cooking, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Germaine will be sadly missed by family, friends, and all those who came to know and love her. Her family welcomes all friends and relatives on Friday, December 2, 2011, from 6pm to 9pm. at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford, CT. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 3rd at 9:00am at First Haitian Methodist Church, 433 W. Main St., Stamford, CT.
