

Gregory Francis Conron a long time resident of Stamford passed away on June 9, 2010 at Richard L. Rosenthal Hospice. He was born on February 28, 1937 in Haddonfield, New Jersey and moved to New Canaan, CT with his parents Anne and William Conron in 1953. He was graduated from St. Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia, the University of Notre Dame, and achieved advanced degrees at UCONN and NYU.
A Stamford resident since 1974; he is survived by his wife of 36 years Marita Mulligan Conron, his son William Thomas and his wife Kathleen Marie of West Norwalk, his daughter Patricia Anne of Hoboken, NJ and his beloved granddaughter Colleen Ann. He is also survived by his sister Gayle Arcario and her husband Joseph of Norwalk.
After graduating from the University of Notre Dame he worked as a Systems Engineer for Norden Systems in Fairfield County for 35 years, followed by positions with Sensomatic and UBS. He was an active member of Holy Spirit parish serving as president of the parish council, member of the choir, treasurer of the Holy Spirit Home School Association, and a long time instructor of alter servers. He was also a member of the Stamford Senior Men’s Association Songsters and a Trinity Catholic High School board member.
He loved the Notre Dame football, the Kentucky Derby, spending the summers in Spring Lake, NJ and Providence College basketball. Above all things he loved and cherished the time he spent with his family and friends.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, 403 Scofieldtown Road, Stamford, Connecticut. Calling hours will be held Friday, June 11, 2010 at Leo P. Gallagher & Sons Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street, Stamford, Connecticut from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. For more information, please see
