

Hugo was born in New York City on July 5, 1928 and he was the younger sibling of three under the parents of Margaret and Edward Mullin.
To serve his country, Hugo joined the Merchant Marine under the clouds of World War II. Thereafter, he enlisted in the U.S. Army joining the 74th Armored Field Artillery Battalion serving in Germany.
Hugo married Rosalie Escribano in 1955, who predeceased him in 1970.
Hugo served in many capacities including Scout Master of the NY Parish, Holy Rosary and he was the presiding President of their Holy Name Association for many years. His last employment was at Sloan Kettering in Rye, NY as their Stationary Engineer.
Hugo is survived by his wife, Phyllis Mozdziak-Preiss whom he married in 1991. Hugo is also survived by his two sisters, Mary Gallagher of Coral Springs, FL and Jean Murray of Belfast, Ireland, his son’s, Hugo Jr., Robert (Ginger), Michael (Cynthia), and a daughter, Rosemary who predeceased him in 1997. His Step-Children, Christine (Fred Calvello), Gary and Edward Preiss, his Grandchildren, Erin (Patrick Sierer), Kelly, Robert (Melanie Platt), Paisley (Charles Bennett), and Evan Mullin, Step-Granchild, Shayne Caserta, and his Great-Grandchildren, Grant, and Caden Mullin-Bennett.
Family and friends may call the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home 2900 Summer Street, Stamford, CT on Wednesday July18 2012 from 4-8pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 am on Thursday July 19, 2012 with burial to follow at Long Ridge Union Cemetery on Erskine Road in Stamford.
