Born in Stamford, CT, he was the son of the late Charles & Sophie McCarty. He had retired from Connecticut Transit where he was a Bus driver for many years. In his retirement, he enjoyed keeping up with trimming his rose bushes and of course, having a good meal!
He is survived by his wife Assunta, whom he was married to for 57 years, his daughter Deborah Foley and her husband Guy, his son Frank McCarty and his wife Karin and their two children, Conner and Kierstin. He was predeceased by his sister Maryann Pennachio.
A mass for James will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 11:00 AM at The Church of Saint Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Ave, Stamford, CT 06905.
