

He was born in Stamford on June 26, 1925, son of the late Joseph and Helen Pivarnik. John was a devout member of St. Leo’s Parish and a U.S. WW II Army Veteran.
He graduated from the University of Connecticut and enjoyed a career as a Mechanical Engineer, working at Pitney Bowes and Perkin Elmer. John loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren. His best days were spent, surrounded by his family, playing spades. He will be sadly missed by all and will remain forever in our hearts.
John’s loving family includes, Ok Chin Pivarnik, Joe and Joanne Pivarnik, Nancy and Dave Early, Helen and Bruce Strolin ,Tom and Terri Pivarnik, and his 11 cherished grandchildren- Jieun, James, Dennis , Alex , Janet, Austin, Lindsey, Megan, Taylor, Lexi and Jordan, and one great-grandchild, Layla.
He was pre-deceased by his loving son, John J. Pivarnik Jr, and his grandson John Chung.
His family will receive friends on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 2pm to 6pm at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St. Stamford.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, April 30, 2018 at St. Leo RC Church, 24 Roxbury Rd. Stamford. Burial will follow at the Queen of Peace Cemetery.
