Juliet was born on August 14, 1946, in Manchester, Jamaica, West Indies, to Inez Lucille Brown and James Wint. Juliet was the first of six children: Justin (Ted), Verna, Barbara, Jackie (Euphemia), and Sandra (Gloria). She is survived by her children, Delroy, Patricia, Andrew, Heather, Christopher, Trecia, Leta, and Tyleta.
Grandchildren: Ashley, LeKisha, Shantel, Brianna, Justin, Whitney, Brian, Aquaria, Quantuanie, Lamar, Hayden, Shelby, Logan, and Karter. Great-grandchildren Sydney and Sanai.
Juliet used to be a domestic worker in Jamaica. She worked in many fields as she tried to provide for her family. On June 15, 1991, Juliet relocated to Stamford, CT, where she worked as a home health aide at personalized home care until 2016. In her years of working as a home health aide, she would occasionally bring her grandchildren to work and build strong relationships with the families she worked for. To this day, her old employers still ask for her and her family.
Juliet was a very independent woman who liked to explore the city and go to her favorite store, Macy's. She would ensure she made a stop at the post office weekly and got the news paper every Sunday. Not having a car never stopped her from going anywhere she wanted. When her mother was alive, she spent most of her free time with her. She would enjoy going out with her sister Barbara, where they would go to tag sales, the beach, and out to lunch. (We still have the ceramic rooster she brought home one day.)
Juliet loved to watch soap operas such as Days of Our Lives and General Hospital during the day. On Sundays, she would listen to Joel Osteen. She listened to Akon when he first came out. Although Juliet always put up a tough exterior, her grandchildren always brought out her softer side, especially the boys. She definitely had favorites. (Karter) She would protect the kids from their parents.
When she was diagnosed with vascular dementia, she stopped working and spent most of her time with the family. Summertime at the house meant many cookouts, and she loved to have a nice drink. As she experienced physical changes throughout her illness, her personality never went away. She knew who to smile at and who to ball up her fist for. She was cared for by her family, who helped make her transition comfortable and safe.
Juliet will be remembered for her hard work ethic, strong personality, hot temper, being private, and most importantly, being family-oriented. She showed her love in many ways, and friends and family will always remember how she impacted their lives.
A visitation for Juliet will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 9 am - 10 am with a funeral service from 10 am - 12 pm at the Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford, CT.
