Born in Havana, Cuba on February 26, 1919, Kathleen grew up in Jamaica, West Indies and was an excellent dressmaker. She immigrated to the United States in 1976, where for several years she worked as a private home health aide in New Canaan, CT, before retiring in New Haven.
She is predeceased by her daughter, Sylvia Jones and her brother Lloyd Atkinson. She leaves to celebrate her life: three Grandchildren; Cheryl Black, Jacqueline Taylor and Dahlia Black and three Great-grandchildren; Brittni, Wyatt and Layla; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St. in Stamford on Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM. Funeral Service immediately following at 11: 00 AM. Burial will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park, Oaklawn Avenue in Stamford, CT.
