

Kathy Margaret Junker Adamski, 65, passed away peacefully at her home in Stamford, CT on October 10th. Kathy valiantly fought 7 forms of cancer for over 20 years and early onset Alzheimer’s these past 4 years. For the last 10 years Kathy was blessed with the gift of a transplanted Kidney from an anonymous donor. Kathy was beloved by all her family and friends, and all who met her.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn and Kenneth Junker. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Peter Joseph Adamski, and her loyal son, John Kenneth Adamski. She is also survived by her sister Lynn Junker Simms (Preston), niece Kathleen Theresa Freeman (Scott), nephew Preston William Simms, grand-nephew James Alvin Freeman, and grand-niece Madelyn Jade Freeman. Kathy also leaves her loving Adamski family of mother-in-law Melda; brothers-in-law Paul (Michele), Mark (Brenda), and Gary (Tim); nephew Kyle; niece Jennifer (Robert); and grand-nephew Rocco. Scores of friends from all over the country mourn the loss of their true friend and companion. As a talented hostess, Kathy created many a dinner party for friends and family.
Kathy graduated with a BA in psychology from Livingston College of Rutgers University and received her RN from Raritan Valley Community College. She also attended NYU and the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA. During her working career she was a social worker, computer system analyst and Registered Nurse. Kathy was a volunteer in the used book shop at the Ferguson library and a member of Maureen Mathews’ Alzheimer’s support group.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Friday October 17th at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home , 2900 Summer St. Stamford, CT. A mass of Christian burial will follow on Saturday October 18th at 11am at Church of the Holy Spirit, 403 Scofieldtown Rd., Stamford, CT. Burial of cremains will be held in Hackensack, NJ at a later date.
