Lore Anna Urta Mendrina

Mendrina, Lore Anna Urte, age 80 of Stamford, CT and previously Mahopac, NY, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on November 12, 2011. She is the beloved wife of her late husband, Theodor Mendrina, who passed away in 2005. Lore was born on July 3, 1931 in Lubeck, Germany of the late Jutta Behrens-Wendt and Carl Wendt. Before moving to Stamford, Lore and Ted owned Mahopac Falls Garage, a foreign car repair shop, in Mahopac, NY where they also raised their two daughters and were loved members of the community. After raising her children, she worked in retail and as a claims examiner for Blue Cross Blue Shield, along with her continued work in the couple’s business.

She has old and new friends that will miss her dearly. Lore was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, and generously volunteered her time for service there. She was an avid gardener, as well as, baking and cooking food to share with others. At night she could always be found relaxing in her reclining chair and working on her latest needlework project.

Lore is the loving mother of Linda Kuppersmith and her husband Scott of Stamford and Kathy Marino of Fairfield. She is the loving grandmother of Desiree DiLallo; and Ashley and Cara Kuppersmith.

All are invited to attend funeral services, where the family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, November 16th 10:00 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 884 Newfield Avenue, Stamford followed by a reception in her honor.
