

Martin Meltzer was born on May 29,1923 and was a true prince among men. He is remembered by all who knew him as a man whose warmth, concern,compassion, generosity, intelligence, humor and class greatly influenced and improved the lives of all he touched. Martin passed peacefully on Wednesday surrounded by his loving children and caretakers at his home in Jupiter, FL. Martin was an extraordinary husband, brother, grandparent, friend and the best dad in the world. Martin was brought up in Brooklyn, NY where, upon the early passing of his parents-Solomon and Elsie, he raised his two younger brothers, Samuel and Irwin. Martin graduated from NYS Maritime Academy, Fort Sklyer. Martin was an officer/engineer who gave service to our Country in the United States Merchant Marine. His repeated crossings of dangerous seas helped the United States War effort in World War two and thereafter.
Martin then went into the Real Estate Brokerage business in the late 1950's and founded Best Realty Company in Brooklyn, NY. As an entrepeneur and businessman, Martin provided a living to his family and enabled many others to do the same. During his long life, his warmth helped him as a broker and was enjoyed by all those he touched and made life long friends.
Martin enjoyed travelling the world with our mother Gwen Meltzer and family. He enjoyed fishing, cards, many sports, music, dancing, being a cohain and socialized with others in a way where he positively embraced and improved the lives of all around him.
As a husband, Martin gave life long love, devotion and care to our mother, Gwen Meltzer. Martin gave the same love, devotion and care as a grandparent and father. Martin leaves behind: his grand children: Emilee, Jeremy, Leila, Eli and Gwen, his children: Stuart and Tammy, his brother Samuel and many others whom he loved and who loved him.
Funeral services for will be held at Temple Beth El, 350 Roxbury Road, Stamford, CT 06902 - Tuesday, November 30th at noon. He will be laid to rest immediately after services in the cemetery adjacent to the Temple.
