Mary Gorman

Born on May 8, 1930 to the late Edna and William P. Berkery of Brooklyn, New York, Mary had fond memories of her early childhood in the Rockaways. She was a graduate of Bishop McDonald High School and Misericordia University, where she captained the field hockey team. In 1957, Mary married the love of her life, Thomas J. Gorman, whose devotion sustained her for over fifty years.

Mary is survived by her five daughters, Maryann Gorman, Patricia Molloy and her husband, Ronald, Elizabeth Gorman, Eileen Gorman, and Kathleen Tormey and her husband, Michael; and her seven grandchildren, Kathleen, Sean, Colin, and Emma Molloy, Michaela Gorman, and Alanah and Liam Tormey. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Jean Berkery.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Thomas, as well as her brother and sister-in-law, William and Mary Jane Berkery.

Arrangements are by Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home, Stamford, Connecticut. Visiting hours are December 28, 2012, 4 pm -8 pm

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held December 29, 2012, 10 am at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Riverside, CT.

She was so very loved, and her family was so very blessed. She will be remembered for her gracious ability to instill a sense in all who knew her that they were valued, accepted, and loved.
