
She was born to the late Hubert and Pearl Wrinch, December 22, 1928, in Saint Paul, MN. As a full scholarship student, Mary was able to attend, and graduate from, Carleton College, MN with a B.A. in Mathematics. She also earned a Master's Degree from The Thunderbird School of Global Management in Phoenix, AZ.
Mary married the late Thomas Hitchcock in 1954 and they lived in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka Japan before relocating to Hong Kong. Eventually, the family moved back to the United States, settling into a home in Stamford, CT where they lived for forty years. Mary is survived by her four children: Kathy (Ginnie) of Brookline, MA; Bob (Lee) of Salt Lake City, UT; Beth (Joe) of New Canaan, CT; and Dan (Heather) of Upper Montclair, NJ. She is also survived by eight grandchildren (Sydney, Lauren, Katie, Jack, John, Christina, William, Meg), and two great-grandchildren (Mary Louise and John). She was predeceased by her loving husband Tom in 2005.
Mary was a quiet and curious person with a strong sense of justice and love for her family. She will be missed dearly.
A service for Mary will be held later in 2022. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Carleton College, One North College Street, Northfield, MN 55057.
