Mary Montanaro, a lifetime resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 14, 2021 at the age of 96 from pneumonia. She was born on July 23, 1924 and was pre-deceased by her husband, Fred Montanaro. She leaves behind daughter, Deborah Montanaro, daughter and husband John and Linda DiMarino, granddaughter, Laura Coppola, grandson and wife, Fred and Cadie DiMarino, a great granddaughter, Lina Coppola and a great grandson, Leo Coppola.
Mary was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Mary worked hard for many years at Rogers Elementary School, and then worked at Brass Rail Restaurant and Pellicci’s Restaurant with her sister, Lou.
Mary graduated from Stamford High School and always said, “Worry and me have never met”. She loved playing baseball and brought her team, the Clippers, to many a victory as pitcher. She was a dedicated bingo player and loved spending time at the casino.
For all who had the opportunity to know her; they will say she was always talkative and friendly. She will surely be missed and was not someone that will be easily forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass, in celebration of her life, at 11:00 am at Holy Spirit Church, 403 Scofieldtown Road, Stamford, Connecticut 06903 on Tuesday, May 25th.
