Michael J. Kaelin passed away Saturday, September 21, 2013 of natural causes. Born on January 6, 1942 to Herman and Ella Ferris-Kaelin. MIchael was a lifelong Stamford resident. A graduate from Stamford Catholic High School, MIchael worked as a manager at B&G Army and Navy, then went on to work as an independant sales representative for several companies. His dedication to the community ranged from work as a Boy Scout troop leader for St. John's troop #22 to coaching with The Stamford National/Lione Little League in Stamford. Michael was also an avid advocate for rescued greyhound racing dogs. He is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Mary-Ellen Kaelin, two sisters, Sister Mary Michelle (Sally) Kaelin of Hartford, CT, Patricia Blachley of Naugatuck, CT, his brother Thomas Kaelin of Homosassa Springs, FL, three children, Adam J. Kaelin, Christopher M Kaelin, and Jennifer Morris, all of Stamford, six grandchildren, Shane, Keith, Caryn, Ashley, Ethan, and Layla, as well as several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will held for Michael on Saturday September 28, from 1PM to 3PM at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home at 2900 Summer St in Stamford, CT.
