

Muriel Siskind, 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 13, at the home of her daughter, Cindy Warren. Cindy, son-in-law Steven and favorite dog, Lucy, were by her side. Muriel was born August 18, 1922 in Norwich, CT. She moved to Stamford in 1924 with her late parents, Dr. Joseph Tennen and Molly Tennen. Muriel graduated from Stamford High School in 1939 and then attended New York University.
She owned Hobbycraft and later The Frame and Print Shop in Stamford with her late husband of 55 years, Sol. Sol and Muriel retired to West Palm Beach, Florida in 1984 where she volunteered at The Morse Geriatric Center and Amory Art Center and was active with Hadassah. They enjoyed tag sales, cruises, sunshine and early bird specials. They especially welcomed visits from their granddaughters.
After Sol’s death, Muriel returned to Stamford and resided at Atria, where she was active in the Residents Council and made many wonderful friends. She was a lifelong member of Temple Beth El in Stamford.
Muriel is survived by her daughters Cindy Warren (Steven) of Stamford and Joan Rossner (Stephen) of Woodbridge, CT. She is also survived by four granddaughters, Meredith Rossner, Sarah Warren (Whitley Tucker), Leslie Fricke (Scott) and Amanda Warren (Scott Strother).
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, June 15 at Temple Beth El, 350 Roxbury Road, Stamford, CT. Rabbi Joshua Hammerman and Cantor George Mordecai will officiate. Burial will follow in Temple Beth El cemetery.
Shiva will be observed at the home of Cindy and Steven Warren in Stamford on Sunday and Monday. Services will be held at 7:30 pm on Sunday.
