Norman Mordecai Stone, son of Philip and Florence originally from New Haven CT, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of August 24, 2025 at age 97. Norman dedicated his life to being a loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and whose love of life and laughter was an inspiration to all who came to know and love him.
A printer by trade, he rose to the level of Master Craftsman, taking pride in devotion to hard work and the excellence he brought to the workplace every day, and by his example, encouraged and motivated a generation of tradespeople who were fortunate enough to work under his tutelage and along side of him. He enjoyed many diverse interests which included travel, exercise, theater, music, the ballet, museum-going, and sports.
He distinguished himself by his kindness, good humor—always quick with a joke, and the even-handedness with which he treated all people—friends and family alike.
He leaves behind wife of 29 years, Suzanne Horn, two loving sons, Jonathan and David, grandchildren, John, Joseph, Samuel, Zoë, and Tyler Stone, and nephew Jeffrey Stone, and Suzanne’s family, Melissa and Barry Lieber and their daughters, Samantha, Emma, and Isabelle.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 26 at 11:00 AM at Temple Beth El, 350 Roxbury Road, Stamford CT.
Donations may be made to any charity that supports Israel, Person to Person and Jewish Family Services.
