Otencia P. Hazel

Otencia Pheadore Hazel, 84 of Stamford, CT was born on May 29,1937 in Roehampton, St, James, Jamaica W.I. to Stanford Morris and Rosetta Morris along with her 7 siblings. Otencia passed away peacefully at Stamford Hospital on Friday, May 27, 2022, surrounded by her family.

Otencia (“OT”) migrated to the United States in December of 1968 and lived most of her life in Stamford, CT. Otencia was the BEST mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great-aunt anyone could have hoped for. She has so much love for her family and friends. Her words before her going home to the Lord were, “I love you all; tell all my friends, I say good-bye”

She was a devoted Christian and a member of the Greenwich Baptist Church. Otencia loves to travel and had travelled the world on various cruises.

Otencia is survived by children, Elvis Hazel Sr (Rosemarie), Owen Hazel and Devon Brown; Grandchildren: Elvis Hazel Jr., Elisha Hazel, Earon Hazel, Dwight Brown, Natasha Brown; Great-grandchildren: Marlee Wright, Moziah Wright and Elijah Hazel; Siblings: Depsy Morris, Dorothy Green, Adanijah Morris, and Clover Morris: Selvin Hazel (ex-husband); many nieces and nephews, grand nieces, and nephews; and a host of family, in-laws, and friends.

Besides her parents, Otencia Hazel was pre-deceased by her siblings: Noel Morris, Kerridine Daley, and Randolf Morris.

While her family and friends will miss her dearly, we take comfort in knowing that our dear Otencia (“OT”) lived a well-loved life.
