
Paul A. Chase passed away on Friday, October 28, 2011. He was predeceased by his wife Irene Novak Chase. Mr. Chase was born on June 18, 1926 in Darien. He was the son of the late John J. and Elizabeth Mehesz Chase. He was also predeceased by four brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Chase is survived by a daughter, Dawn of Stamford, a son Paul A. Chase Jr. and daughter-in-law Kathleen of Milford, a son Brian D. Chase and daughter-in-law Mary-Ann of Florida, three grandchildren Timothy of Boston, Lauren of Milford, and Alexis of Florida, and two great grandchildren Lily and Elijah of Florida. He is survived by a sister Anna Chase of Darien, and a sister-in-law Stephanie Swist of Milford.
Mr. Chase was a graduate of Darien High School and also attended Norwalk Technical College. In addition he graduated from the US Naval Electrical School at Purdue, and later served on the USS The Sullivans and the USS Duluth. Mr. Chase worked for a number of years at Pitney Bowes as an electronics quality control supervisor.
He was a member of the VFW, the American Legion, and the Piedmont Club. In addition, he enjoyed participating in a variety of senior social functions and travel experiences.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 31, 2011 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street, Stamford.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 1 at 11:00 AM at St. Cecilia Church, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Richards Avenue, Norwalk. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Cecilia’s Church, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT 06905.
