It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Pearl (Ferrante) Borgia, a beloved figure whose life touched many. She departed from this world at the age of 95, on Monday, October 30, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, passion, and joyful memories.
Born to Antoinette and Angelo Ferrante on January 7, 1928, in Pittston, Pennsylvania, Pearl's life was marked by her warmth, charisma, and spirit. From her early days, she showcased an undeniable zest for life, a trait that would define her in the years to come. Her fascination with roller skating began whimsically, trying on her sister Anita's skates. This simple act ignited a lifelong passion, leading her to become a celebrated dance roller skater. Her dedication and skill were evident as she glided her way to victory, collecting a trove of medals and trophies in the 1950s and 60s, marking her as a champion in her field.
Pearl's journey of love and companionship began with her marriage to Bob Merchant, with whom she lovingly raised their children, Diane and Bobby, in Queens, NY. Her heart found its match once more in 1974 when she married Reg Borgia. Together, they shared 49 years of unwavering love and happiness.
Her entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly when she founded her own interior decorating business, The Window Dresser. Through this venture, Pearl not only showcased her incredible talent and eye for beauty but also touched the lives of her clients with her warm personality and genuine care.
Beyond her professional achievements, Pearl was a woman of many passions. She found joy in playing the organ, was devoted to her church, and relished in cooking exquisite Italian cuisine. Her baking skills were unmatched, and she was the heart and soul of countless family gatherings, creating moments that would become cherished memories.
Sadly, Pearl was predeceased by her son, Bobby; her sisters, Esther, Anita, and Millie; and her loving brothers, Jimmy, Joe, and Sal and her son-in-law Richard. Her vibrant spirit lives on through her husband, Reg; her daughter Diane; daughter-in-law Geri; step-daughter Valerie; her beloved grandchildren, Holly, Chris, Craig, Brian, Alex, and Jess; and her adored great-grandchildren, James and Matthew. Pearl is also survived by her brother Stephen and a large extended family of Ferrantes and relatives. Each of these individuals carries a piece of her legacy, a testament to a life richly lived and lovingly shared.
Pearl’s magnetic presence brought light and happiness to everyone fortunate enough to have crossed her path. Her absence leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew her. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we take solace in the countless memories she has gifted us, and her enduring spirit that will continue to inspire us all. Pearl Borgia’s legacy of love, passion, and family will forever be etched in our hearts.
