Ramón N. Tañon

Ramón Nicolas Tañon, A longtime resident of Stamford, CT died peacefully on February 9, 2022. He was a devoted husband of Juanita (Rosado) Tañon for 57 years and a father of Nicolas, Edwardo and Johnny.

Ramón was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico to Nicolas Tañon Ramirez and Josefina Perez Tañon. He and his wife moved to Brooklyn NY in 1960 before moving to Stamford in 1979. Ramón graduated from high school and he enlisted in the United States Army. He later attended Nazarene Theological Seminary in Colorado where he spent two years with his family before returning to Stamford. He graduated from the Nazarene Theological and obtained his ministry license.

Ramón has been a pastor for the past 30 years and helped pioneer several churches from Westchester to Fairfield Counties, and was Pastor of Iglesia Cristiana Restauración Inc. in Stamford, CT.

His life was consumed with his family and great friends. His favorite past time was fishing and bowling. He is survived by his beloved wife Juanita, his sons, Nicolas, Edwardo & Johnny, his grandkids Denise, Nicole, Erica, Belinda, Cambrea, Edwardo Jr., Nia, Joshua , Jirah, Christina, Reagan and Daniel, eight great grandkids and one great great grandson. He was predeceased by his parents.

Ramón will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Services will be held at the Leo P. Gallagher& Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St. Stamford on Monday, February 14, 2022 with a visitation beginning at 9 am followed by the funeral service at 10:00 am. www.leopgallagherstamford.com
