Robert “Bobby” Bennett was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War. After

returning home from Vietnam he moved to the Long Ridge section of Stamford to

become a firefighter, a job that he held for the past 40 years. For the last

nine years he proudly served the Long Ridge Community as the Chief of Long Ridge

Fire Company. Bob spent much of his life as the crew chief for his son’s race team. He loved driving the roads of this great country with his wife. He was an avid fisherman

and loved the outdoors. Bob always had a connection with animals and especially loved his cats & dogs. He was a great leader, mentor and a devoted friend. He is survived by his wife Linda of 42 years, two children and his beloved & adored grandchildren, Jordyn, Lucas, Alayna & Ella. Bob also leaves behind a cherished circle of family & friends. A private burial will be handled by Leo P Gallagher & Sons, 2900 Summer St.,
