Robert E McIlvane

MCILVANE, Robert E. of Stamford passed away on June 21, 2010 at the age 82. He leaves behind his beloved and devoted wife of nearly 60 years Doris (Becker) McIlvane. He leaves also five children and their spouses: William (Joanne) of Sturbridge, MA; Mark (Diana) of Naperville, IL; Amy Ballard (Robert) of Waxhaw, NC, Charles of Stamford, CT, and Nancy Del Genio (Robert) of Cos Cob, CT and five grandchildren: Matthew McIlvane, David and Kathryn Ballard, and Michael and Ann Del Genio. He is survived also by his brother Rev. Donald McIlvane of Pittsburgh, PA, his sister Elizabeth McIlvane of Altamonte Springs, FL. and many friends whose lives he enriched. He was predeceased by his sister, Roseanne Casey of Washington, DC. Mr. McIlvane was born in Pittsburgh, PA on July 16, 1927 to William and Mary (Brennan) McIlvane. After his World War II service in the Merchant Marine, he graduated from Georgetown University. He worked in the telecommunications industry, serving for most of his career in senior executive positions at Anaconda Wire & Cable and Anixter. Following retirement in 1992, he continued to consult to that industry for 15 more years. A funeral mass and reception will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Parish on June 25th at 1PM (469 North Street Greenwich, CT 06830).
