

Born in Peshawar, India, Roger was the son of Omram Malhotra and Ram Piari Chandok. He is survived by his brothers Balraj (Kailash) and Mahesh (Sadhana).
Roger moved to London at the age of 18 to attend university and worked multiple jobs to fund his education. At the age of 25, Roger moved to New York. At his first job at United Artists, he met his longtime love Rose Gempis (Malhotra).
He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years Rose, sons Andrew and Rajesh (Sarah), and daughter Regina (Miguel). His legacy continues through his grandchildren, who adored him: Aaron, Alex, Isabel, Mateo, and Dash. Roger is also fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, whom he considered family.
Roger had a very successful career for over 50 years in the Insurance and Financial Services industry working for Equitable, MetLife, and Mass Mutual. Roger was more than an advisor to his clients; he was a true friend. Roger was a mentor to many in the industry and was revered by so many for his quick mind and quantitative skills.
Roger will be fondly remembered by all for his larger-than-life personality. He loved telling jokes in both English and Hindi. He touched so many people and was always there to try to lead others toward the right path in life no matter who they were.
Roger’s favorite hobbies were having dinner and spending time with his family and his friends, bringing people together, and successfully trading stocks. Roger was also an expert in games of skill such as craps, blackjack, Indian poker, and mahjong.
A wake will be held at Leo P. Gallagher Funeral Home (2900 Summer Street, Stamford, CT) on Sunday, June 29, 2025, from 3-7PM. A funeral mass will be held at St. Leo Parish (24 Roxbury Road, Stamford, CT) on Monday, June 30 at 10:30AM.
