Born in Brooklyn, New York, Ronnie was the son of Charles and Dora Reisman. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Brooklyn College and then attended the Fashion Institute of Technology, earning a degree in textiles.
Ronnie spent his career in the textile industry. His first job was for the former Lowenstein Fabrics, in New York City, where he rose from the mailroom to a vice president. He was also a former vice president of Chelsea Industries, in Chelsea, Massachusetts. Career highlights include working on the development of the Vans checkerboard sneaker pattern.
Ronnie was a film buff, a history buff and an avid sports fan. He had a great sense of humor, was enormously funny, and was loving and family-minded. He was beloved by all generations of his family.
He was an MP in the Army during the Korean War. He also played professional baseball with the Newport News, the minor-league club of the Brooklyn Dodgers.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Sherry; his daughter and son-in-law, Lynette and Michael; his son, Danny; his sister, Dolly Reinhold; his former wife, Nicolina; his grandchildren, Kayla and Jake; nieces and nephews Wayne, Darryl, Cynthia, Lyle and Evan; and many great-nephews and nieces.
Friends and loved ones are invited to a wake on Friday, Oct. 8, 4-8 p.m., at Leo Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford, Connecticut.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
Ashes will be given to the family.
