

Rosa Filingeri, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on October 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 1, 1940, in Sicily, Italy, and later made her home in the United States, where she built a life filled with love, devotion, and grace.
Rosa came to America as a young woman with courage and determination. She began her career as a seamstress, where her extraordinary skill, creativity, and attention to detail shined through in every piece she crafted.
A woman of immense warmth and generosity, Rosa was happiest when surrounded by those she loved. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, filled with the aroma of her home-cooked meals, laughter, and the love that nourished everyone who entered. She shared her heart through her cooking, her kindness, and her strength and determination.
Rosa was the devoted wife of Vincenzo Filingeri and the proud mother of three children, Salvatore Filingeri, Serafina Chiaramonte and Benedetto Filingeri and spouse Diane Filingeri, grandmother to seven grandchildren Rosa Stoler, Anthony Chiaramonte, Malissa Brown, Vincent Chiaramonte, Rosana Filingeri, Alexandra Filingeri, Amanda Filingeri and their spouses Jared Stoler, Thomas Brown and Christina Chiaramonte and great-grandmother to four great-grandchildren (Derek Stoler, Elena Stoler, Gianvito Chiaramonte and Massimo Chiaramonte. Her family was her greatest joy and the center of her life. She will be forever remembered for her compassion and her unconditional love.
Rosa’s legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Her loving spirit, gentle strength, and warm smile will never be forgotten.
Rosa’s family will receive friends from 4pm -8pm on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at the Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford, CT 06905. Friends are asked to meet directly at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Ave. Stamford, CT, 10 am on Friday, October 31, 2025, for the Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment to follow at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village NY.
